London Barndance: Samuel Ryder in St Albans

Most of our events are held at Cecil Sharp House, but when that is not available we sometimes use the main hall at the Samuel Ryder Academy in St Albans. This is one of the schools used by Friday Folk so it should be familiar to many people.

Travel to St Albans

Traveline's Journey Planner does a good job with public transport routes (use the postcode AL1 5AR as the destination, and don't forget to set the time and date that you want to arrive)

Nearest mainline rail: St Albans City – this has a very good service from London St Pancras, and there is a bus service (84A) that will take you from there to Drakes Drive. Alternatively, it should only take 30 minutes on foot: see the walking map from walkit.com

You may need to leave rather promptly at the end of the dance to avoid a long wait for the next train. There may well be people with cars who would be willing to give you a lift to the station.

You could also try Transport for London's Journey Planner (use the postcode AL1 5AR as the destination, and don't forget to set the time and date that you want to arrive)

Parking

There is plenty of parking at the school.

Catering

There is no on-site catering for evening events at Samuel Ryder. It would be wise to bring at least a bottle of water!

There may be a few soft drinks for sale, by courtesy of St Albans Friday Folk.
