London Barndance: Where and When

The Venue

Everything has been online while pandemic restrictions were in force.
See our Virtual Dances page for more about how we did this.

We plan to return to dancing at C# House in September 2021

Our COVID-19 page has information on how we plan to do this safely.

We will use the Contra Corner and LBC News mailing lists to make announcements.
Please stay safe and only follow advice from reputable sources:

Updated 9th July 2021

In normal times our events are held at Cecil Sharp House, 2 Regents Park Road, London NW1 7AY
C# House is the home of the English Folk Dance and Song Society.

London Barndance events normally use the Kennedy Hall,

Occasionally we have to use a different venue, and this will be noted in the programme listing.

Times

All London Barndance events run from 8pm to 11pm.

Tickets

Admission in 2021: £14 (£12 for LBC members and concessions, £5 for under-18s)

We are trying out a card-payment machine, but it would be wise to bring cash just in case! You can also book online through C# House.

A special discount can be arranged for organised groups of ten or more people.

There is usually no need to book tickets in advance unless you are bringing a group of people and want to claim the group discount.

We are not charging for virtual events, so please donate to our Tip-jar so that we can pass some money to performers who have lost out badly during lockdown.

Online Booking

You can book tickets online through the Cecil Sharp House website with debit or credit cards.

Driving and Parking

Beware! Cecil Sharp House is inside the new Ultra Low Emission Zone. This means that you must pay a charge unless your car is new enough to meet the emissions requirements. Diesel cars in particular must be very new, but older petrol cars get charged as well. You should check whether your car meets the ULEZ criteria on the TfL website. Note that the charge is per calendar day, so you must be outside the North Circular or South Circular roads before midnight or pay the charge twice!

Cecil Sharp House has very little parking space of its own. Please do not block the access with parked cars!

On-street parking is available in local roads after 6:30 p.m. The easiest place to park is on Gloucester Avenue near the canal bridge.

Catering

Drinks and light snacks are usually available from the café but you should check before depending on it for your evening meal. Contact Pink Food for details.
